We are getting ready for the PACER test in Physical Education!

4th graders took on the Impossible Tower Challenge and quickly learned that building the tallest tower isn’t as easy as it looks! They worked together, tried new ideas, watched a few towers tumble, and learned that failure is just part of the process. 💪🧠

Lots of teamwork, problem-solving, perseverance, and plenty of laughs! ❤️

These kindergarten students are hungry..... for FINE MOTOR SKILLS! Making "Scissor Salad" was a fun way for these kindergarteners to practice their scissor skills as they created their salads with lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, and cheese! Yes please!!

What is one part of Bridges math 2nd grade students enjoy..... WORK PLACES! Work Places are a part of math instruction in all grades at King! In the early days of the new year, students explore the "math tools" (manipulatives) that will be used in the work places. These 2nd grade students have "math talk guides" at their groups to start math discussions!

King Families, SAVE THE DATE for Meet the Teacher Night on Monday, August 10th from 5:0-6:30PM.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Kunes Toyota of Galesburg for their incredible generosity. As part of the Kids in Need Foundation, they have donated over 200 backpacks filled with school supplies to help our students gear up for the upcoming school year.

CUSD #205 Kindergarten-6th Grade Families can pick up a backpack on Thursday, July 23, in the front circle drive at Steele Elementary School at 3 p.m.
Backpacks will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis.
There is a strict limit of one backpack per student.
This giveaway is designed to help families get a jump start on their back-to-school shopping, but it does not fulfill the complete list of classroom supplies.
